We stayed true to our name as the sunshine came out for our annual golf day. Organised with the help of Golf North East and Newcastle United Golf Club, teams from local companies competed on Friday 22nd May and helped to raise over £6,000.

A huge congratulations to our winning team from Duco, who were closely followed by Newcastle United Golf Club, DFDS and last year’s winners Taylor Rowlands.

Peter Jobe, secretary at Newcastle United Golf Club, said: “We were delighted to be involved. It’s great that we could provide the location for this charity event.”

Teams of four enjoyed bacon sandwiches before play began and were refreshed at the half way house with food and drink kindly donated by Asda and Greggs.

Local golf professional and performance coach, Kevin Cademy Taylor and his team from CT Performance were on hand all day to help players with target practice, putting and chipping competitions.

Players didn’t just leave with a suntan. Thanks to Sumlock, Golftext and Eat Natural, everyone received a goody bag. The top ten teams received rounds of golf from local golf clubs and fantastic prizes were donated for the raffle by Morgan Ashurst, DFDS Seaways, ITPS and Golfbreaks.com.
