2km Fancy Dress Fun Run

Date: Sunday 26th April
Venue: Exhibition Park, Newcastle upon Tyne

Northumbria University students are urging fun runners to pull on their trainers and dig out their fancy dress costumes in a bid to raise money for the Sunshine Fund.

Sports management students, Darryl Harland, who will be dressed as Captain America, and fellow student Craig Buchanan are hoping others from the local community - families as well as students - will sport silly costumes for the run and help to raise hundreds of pounds.

The run, which follows pathways around the park, will start at 11am. Other attractions on the day will include a ‘Beat the keeper’ football game with prizes on offer for the top scorers.

So far 100 people have signed up but they hope that 250 people will take part.
