GIANT MOTORSPORT POSTER GIVES A BOOST TO CHARITY QUIZ
THIS year’s Celebrity Question of Sport is now just weeks away. And prizes are already being gathered for the annual fundraiser, organised by the Chronicle’s Sunshine Fund.
This giant poster of Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher is set to be the top lot for Formula One fans bidding in the charity auction, at Newcastle’s Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel on November 19.
When North East Tyre and Autocare on the Silverlink Trading Estate in Wallsend, decided it was time to replace the poster, it asked the Sunshine Fund to help it find a new home for it. Bidding is expected to start at £500.
Customer services manager Sarah Hogg said: “Motor racing fans will love it.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the poster go for a good sum. You can’t get it anywhere else.”
As always, at the heart of the star-studded evening will be a sports quiz. And to make sure no-one has an unfair advantage each table will have its own sports celebrity to help out with the trivia.
Sunshine Fund manager Jo Harris said: “We so grateful to North East Tyre and Autocare, and all of our donors, for their generosity.
“With all the money we raise we’ll be able to do so much for sick and disabled children in Tyneside.”
